~ Israeli-Palestinian Conflict ~

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been going on between the Israelis and Palestinians that began in the mid-20th century. Origins trace back to the Jewish immigration and conflict in Mandatory Palestine between Jews and Arabs.

  • Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs both wanting the same land.
  • Compromise is proven hard to find.

~ When Did The Conflict Between Israel And Palestine Began ? How Did The Conflict First Start In The First Place ? ~

It all began in the state of Israel in 1948 and came from the violence from Mandatory Palestine between Israelis and Arabs from 1920 and into full-scaled hostiles in the 1947-48 civil war.

The conflict has been going on since the early 1900s, when the mostly-Arab, mostly-Muslim region was part of the Ottoman Empire.

  • Starting in 1917
  • “Mandate” ran by the British Empire
  • As the conflict continues to the present day.

The first war between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs started the day Israel declared its Independence in 1948. As the Palestinians soon were joined by Arab countries nearby, such as Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and Syria.

Between 1882 and 1948, a series of Aliyahs took place in 1917, which officially became known as Palestine.

The conflict is mostly about over who gets what land and how it is controlled.

~ Who Owned The Land First ? Israel Or Palestine ? ~

Before Israel became a nation, most of the people living in the region were Palestinians (Arabs) that lived in what was known as Palestine.

Parts of the Ottoman Empire were given to the French to control and some parts were given to the British, which also included Palestine.

Britain governed this area under a League of Nations that was mandated from 1920 to 1948.

~ The Arab-Israeli Wars ~

In 1947, the UN had voted to split the contested territory into 3 parts.

  • One for Jews
  • One for Arabs
  • International trusteeship regime in Jerusalem.

As the Arabs didn’t accept the deal, in other words, the UN had no right into giving their land away.

  • War broke out.

The Palestinian narrative began forcing people to leave from their homes for those who supported the re-establishment of a Jewish homeland in Israel.

Something you will hear that “both sides” are to blame for perpetuating the conflict, and there’s plenty of truth in that.

The peace process in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict refers to intermittent discussions held during the ongoing violence which has prevailed since the beginning of the conflict.

The USA has been attempting to break the conflict for decades.

There might be hope for all this violence to stop.
